Chosen Emeralds

The world is on the inside
All of nature's sprouting beauty
Such a divine essence of peace
Found in tiny little orbs

Holding mercy and curiosity
Awaiting life to give into adventure
Time to explore and make mischief
Just to travel back to security

Such innocent radiance
From the face of a new beginning
Untraced shining outlines
Of a pair of gleaming emeralds

Placed conveniently in perfection
For future sight of things
In this little baby girl
With all the happiness she brings

Her eyes beam when she smiles
And they twinkle when she cries
Who knew that God would put them
In a place that was so wise

Green can be found in flowers
In the start of the new year
You see it everywhere in sight
When spring is more than near

It can be understood as healing
And she's fixed my broken heart
She's learned to wink and grin
She's so very, very smart

That God would know a place so wise
Is really not much of a surprise
For He knew my wife's were emerald green
And my daughter's hold the same sweet sheen

Cherish her, I will forever
I won't abandon her, now or never
She has her mommy's emerald eyes
In a place that God chose, so very wise.
