Relationship struggle
The River Runs Dry

Midlife crisis, stir the fire
Out the door and into the mire
Shearing pain, teeth grinding
Blind sighted by this finding

Recent memory, diluted feelings
Should’ve known, can’t stop screaming
Inevitable change, finally caught hiding
Through my hands you keep sliding

A boy’s first love, so revealing
Searched, failed to find the meaning
Lost in motion, reaching for the phone
Numbers dialed, left alone
