short poem about the silhouette of a man standing at a window
Another dream,
with you again up down by the river,
Quiver, it’s cold, need me to hold? You’re afraid.
I like the way the mist dances in the
moonlight underneath dark clouds seems to fade

There’s a man at the window, a shadow
of the building above, top of the hill
He is watching us closely, an angel
Or a devil. Poised. Ready to kill

I don’t like that he’s watching I tell you
to keep an eye on his legs, if he moves
we go. A turn, a step, you pretend you
don’t know. Promise soon as the car comes we

GO! NOW! Quick as a flash! The man comes out
running so we make a dash. Look to the
left, look to the right. Man in his doorway,
he pleasures his knife. It glitters slowly.

Run to the car and I open the door
Both jump in panting and I hit the floor
Look in the mirror as we speed away
but he’s somewhere ahead now, blocking the way
