I'm your diary, your rock but what do you want to be? Must I stay in this constant misery?
Your Diary and Your Rock

It’s the emotions you get to feel, not the words or the rhymes,
they’re just messages to keep it real.
And when a person comes up to you and asks you how you feel,
somehow you got to answer even if you don’t know how you feel.
So what I’m trying to say is that even though I know some, I don’t know all
and I want someone to cherish, someone who will cherish me above all.
Not that I think I’ll find him, not anytime soon
but isn’t it a nice thought?
A soul mate, a partner, a friend,
someone who will be there for you till the end.
I guess what I’m trying to say is won’t you be my partner today?
Won’t you take a change, take a dive, take a risk.
Not that I expect you to. I don’t even know what we are.
Are we friends, ‘best’ friends or more?
Why can’t you give me and answer,
why am I sure that if I ask things will be ruined, destroyed, never to be the same.
Why do I think I’m the one to blame for all the drama in your life?
The sadness, the hurt and the sighing.
Why do I think if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t be crying?
But I guess that’s just the way things go, even if you try not to.
I’m your friend, your diary, your rock,
but something more, probably not.
It’s something I’ll have to live with,
it’s not your burden to bare.
Still, can’t you at least act like you care?
When we talk it’s like you’re not even really hearing me,
and sometimes I gotta express myself literally
and then you’re still not hearing me?
What do I do when I don’t know what to do,
when I’m stuck in the place where I want 1 and 1 to equal 2,
when I ain’t got no place to go and no one to see
that this is really hurting me.
I know you don’t mean it, I know that what you’re really trying to do
is let me who you wanna be.
And somehow, someway, I know it’s not with me.
