Relating love to a game of monopoloy
Delicate is the heart
Stupid is the mind
Playing the game of love
is so asinine.

You get out the box
Despite what you say
You're starting up the game
You refused to play

You pass go
And win a little money
A guy winks at you
And calls you his honey

Yes you got a railroad
And Baltic Avenue
The guy comes to your house
And says he cares for you

You think you have a monopoly
This game you're going to win
Then like every time before
It happens all again

You land on Boardwalk
It has a hotel
The boy was pretending to like you
And it hurts like hell

Why would you put your hand
Into a burning flame
That's what you do to your heart
Playing the stupid game

It's all a bunch of lies
Wrapped in a pretty bow
Leading to an end
Which you already know

You've been there before
Time and Time again
Yet you think it'll be different
With all the different men

Yet at every crossroad
You feel your heart tear
The unbearable pain
That you're forced to bear

When will you learn
To put away the board
Stop playing with fire
Stop juggling the sword

The "get out of jail free" card
Isn't valid here
Neither is a breaking heart
Or eyes shedding tears

Don't be a top hat
Don't be a car
Give up the game
It won't get you far

In the end all you get
Is a broken heart
No money in the bank
Wishing you never did start

In the closet the game will go
But your heart won't be the same
Hopefully you won't be dumb enough
To again play that game
