About mother and daughter relationship & an overprotective mother
Mother & Daughter – All grown up, need to fly free

I hate the way you look at me
When you’re talking I stare right through
I hate the way you try to tell me every single thing to do.

I am beginning to reject your hugs and kisses
I’m not a little girl anymore
Our mother-daughter relationship is feeling like a constant war.

I hate the way I feel resentment towards you
Deep down I love you honestly
But mother please understand you are suffocating thee.

I need to learn and make my own mistakes
I’m sensible not stupid, just young and naïve
Truthfully this constant bickering is making me want to leave.

Most days I just want to be left alone
You’re far to needy and with that I can’t cope
Our relationship this past year has been on a steady slope.

You’re patronizing and pushy, you’d say I’m just a pain
But don’t you realise if you continue the way you are
Your pushing me further and further afar.

I might seem cold and heartless
But I do need you…a mother
I only wish you did not feel that me you had to smother.

I’m popping the bubble wrap you’ve wrapped me up in
Through good and bad I still love you…all that counts in the end
Our mother-daughter relationship isn’t broken, it we can amend.
