Ballad I wrote about Dragon riders
The Last Dragon Rider

On the wings of a dragon I do fly

Looking down its all I can do not to cry

Of the thousands, alone I do survive.

By the darkness I will not abide

Flying through the air

Finding off my despair

I wonder why I even fought at all

Looking down I remember those who did fall

In a bright flash of light

Filled I am with holy might

In that second I feel destines call

Now I know why I did not fall.

On golden wings I do fly

Looking for the castle in the sky

In whose halls darkness does abide

I raise my sword unleashing my battle cry.

For years I do search

Bearing immortality as my curse

Searching to end the plague

Threatening to consume this earth.

Kneeling next to my friend I do cry

For she has fallen from the sky

Given her all that I may slay.

The evil of the shadows this day.

Through the shadowy halls I do stalk

While in my head evil does talk

Trying to sway my nerve

From my destiny I do not swerve.

Reaching the lair I see an awful sight

All my friends I must fight.

In their eyes I see evils light .

Fighting blindly for they have no sight.

Through my friends I do wade

Making my way with my blade.

To the true evil I make my way.

This fight will end this day.

The shadow does itself show

I take aim with my bow.

My arrow does strike true

Though it goes straight through.

My blade I do draw

Walking forth to give my all

As my blade does the final blow strike

My blade is enveloped in light.

The shadow does fall.

As holy light envelopes all.

I drop to my knees and pray

For them to end my eternal torment please!

The light fades and the golden one to me does return

In a form that to me in unheard

A maiden so fair

With light flaxen hair.

Into my arms does she run

Embracing me under the morning sun

The lady of who I had dreamed.

She was a reality it seemed.
