I wrote this poem as thanks for my best friend, Miranda. Please rate!
Overcoming sadness is a cake with two forks,
The rain drizzling outside, and icing on my nose.
Overcoming sadness is laughing at the streaks
Of food stuck in your hair only to realize,
You've smeared more in mine.

Loneliness is your door closed,
The lights off, and blinds shut.
Loneliness is shivering
Because my only jacket
Has gone home for the day.

Happiness is being tickled to tears,
Flying out of control down the hall
On the rickety carts then falling
Hard on the ground and feeling no pain.
Happiness is the sticky note trade,
Leaving one to receive another
Ten times deeper and sweeter.

Assurance is the promise
That shines brightly in your eyes,
Saying, tomorrow will come,
And the rain will soon cease.
Assurance is a quick smile
Or soft pat on the back
That never falters when
I feel like I'm wasting away.

Peace is the feeling of content,
Sitting still, quietly wishing.
Peace is breathing deeply,
Feeling your warmth, knowing
My wish has come true.
