On alienation and fear
Silence

The sound of the old piano
which I will never play again
wafting slowly through the empty room
where dust has settled
in what used to be my home.

And now, where do I belong,
what is my purpose here?
I was driven here by melancholy,
now I'm bound to it by my fear.

Ah, to roam, but yet -
leaving would be betrayal -
too dangerous, to set
my feet outside the door...

And so I am bound, gagged,
and lonely in the fortress
that used to be my home.
