To forget your problems move or freeze
Move or Freeze

Have you ever walked on the never-ending road?
Just thinking, blocking out, on human auto mode.
Have you ever walked until your feet swell and ache?
Feeling so motionless, yet your walking, mind barely awake.
Have you ever ran and ran, breathing increasing its pace?
Listening to loud rhythmic music, it’s only a mental race.
Have you ever skipped, trying to get your knees higher and higher?
Going to continue, physically you will not tire.

For all this is to forget the pain inside,
Moving, running, skipping and jumping stops the mind thinking,
To forget those issues that make you feel like you’re sinking,
So focus on the task in hand and run, run on that never-ending road.

Have you ever stared out of a window, vision all blurred?
Looking, not watching, all voices sound muffled or slurred.
Have you ever looked up to the black sky at night?
Wondering if there is anything beyond, mentally searching for light.
Have you ever stood there amongst the crowds, angelically still?
Wondering about ways out, alcohol or popping a pill.
Have you ever collapsed, falling to the floor?
Now you are still, focused, pain hurts you no more.

For all this is to forget the pain inside
Concentrate on not blinking, not moving at all
To forget those issues, once more you can stand tall
So focus on the task in hand and stop, don’t move, not and inch.
