a poem I wrote for some co-workers because I don't have money to buy everyone a gift.
Our streets were lined with lights galore.
And snow on every tree.
Our neighbors caroling those songs we all love.
It's so exciting you see!

Cars were packed into every driveway.
Sleds were on every hill.
People Laughing
People Hugging
For me it was such a big thrill.

Presents were handed to the little ones first.
Men and women and pets.
Food in the kitchen just stewing away....
While dads placed their football bets.

As we sat at the table to say our prayers....
and thank God for all we had....
I squinted one eye to look at the pie.
I wanted to taste it.
Isn't that bad!

And after the feast...with our bellies so full...
and our hearts all nestled with love.
We retired to our bedrooms for some much needed rest....
and a quick nod to the man up above.

"I thank you so for blessings of joy...
and tidings of merriment and pleasure.
My love I send to my father and friend...
            To my mentor, my maker...
                My treasure"
