A poem story about an attack of a whale.
The white foamed seas,
Called me dangerously to its stage,
Where in I enacted the part of first mate,
To my captain Jim Persnap,
The fiercest fisherman whoever did practice the trade,
He had a hook set aside for the day,
As he put it “The sea would claim her prize”,
I borrowed it to etch pictures into the wood of my cabin,
Ancient scenes of noble warriors,
Who fought dragons,
Like my Captain fought the seas.
After each exscursion we would celebrate in a way all our own,
Old Man McGinty would take the scrawniest fish of all and give it to me,
On which I would then scrawl words in a language unkown,
That only two can read,
A message that reads as follows,
“Ships that sail bring grog and ale,
But all would be still at capture of whale”,
The fish is then cast into the sea,
As its reminder of all the treasures it holds,
My Captain considered this a prayer,
To his god of the blue.
Once my Captain told me of a story,
That the whales of the deep,
Are gods held by a dark curse,
That they can never leave the water,
A prisoner of the seas,
I asked my Captain of how these Whales could be freed of the curse,
He gave me this answer,
One whale in passion,
Must rally the spirits of the rest,
And lead them to the skies.
During one night my Captain’s words buzzed through my head,
A whale in passion,
How delightfully beautiful it sounded,
But my thoughts were broken by the scream of Crow’s Nest Jones,
“White whale off the port bow”,
I ran to the deck,
To see the beautiful god my Captain had always talked about,
The air was filled with shrills of the beautiful beluga,
It approached the side of the boat as if it was here to talk with my Captain,
My Captain went to his knees,
And broke into tears,
The whale jumped up and snatched his right hand,
He had finally paid his price for his usage of the seas,
My Captain did not once wince in pain,
He only went to my cabin,
Where he knew I had stored his hook,
And placed it where his hand was until recently,
But the whale did not leave after taking its sacrifice,
I approached it,
As if to challenge what it did,
“Why?”,
I questioned of the god,
He then jumped up and swallowed me whole.
I found my self alive in the belly of the whale,
With what seemed to be his supper,
Though,
For some reason,
All of these fish were scrawny,
This could hardly be a meal for a god as mighty as this,
But then I looked on the sides,
Written in a language unknown,
That only two can read,
A message that reads as follows,
“Ships that sail bring grog and ale,
But all would be still at capture of whale”,
So I ate upon the fish of many celebrations of the crew,
And many prayers of my Captain,
I was unable to feel full until I had feasted upon all of the fish locked in my whale prison,
After finishing,
I slept.
When I awoke I saw a light,
So I swam towards it,
But my fins were not strong enough to get there,
I felt a push guiding me towards it,
When I made it to the light I found it to be a tunnel,
So I left the tunnel,
I emerge in a field of gods,
I had been birthed as a white whale,
But I felt different than the others,
Who looked upon me,
I felt a depth of emotion,
Excitement,
Fear,
Anger,
Lust,
Happiness,
But passion,
I felt passion the most,
Passion of the sea,
Passion of being a whale
Passion of being born again,
Being born a whale in passion,
I was a whale in passion,
I felt the passion surge through the entirety of my body,
And I swam,
I swam until I got to the surface,
But I found that surface could not stop me so I kept on swimming,
Then all of the gods of the deep followed,
Bursting through the surface in a parade of splashes,
They followed as I kept swimming,
I swam through the galaxies,
Through stars and the nebulas,
And as a whale in passion I ruled the universe.
