We were packing to move out to the country after our children moved out
Moving

There are boxes and boxes everywhere,
Our home has become so bare.
Pack away our lives with tender loving care
Paint this wall then paint that
Cover up the chair the table and the cat.
Pack away the memories and life of days gone by
Pack away a teething ring and wipe the tear from my eye.
I took the pictures off the wall they left their mark in space
But I know it won’t be long till they brighten our new place
So many years have come and gone but now its time to go
A new place where new memories will have a space to grow
Paint away the fingerprints and height marks on the wall
So many years have come and gone my they’ve grown so tall
I moved a box from the corner out fell a toy car or two
I sat in the middle of the room and cried a tear for you
I held them to my heart and took a breath in deep
I put them in a special box where safely they would keep
This once was our dream home but now it’s time has past
Our kids are grown, time for a new home why did it go by so fast
There are boxes and boxes everywhere
Our home has become so bare pack away our lives with tender loving care.
