Good story
Private Henry Thompson wakes up at 6:00 A.M. on a Sunny Wensday morning in London, England. It's been two weeks since he has joined the Navy and he had already finished training. Yesterday, he was informed that he will take part in a huge landing operation code named operation Overlord. It was to take place on June 6th 1944. Today, it was June 3rd 1944. Henry left his bunk and headed for the mess hall. Hundreds of his fellow soldiers were packed in the large building. Most of them were talking and eating, others sharing letters and looking at magazines they had recieved in the mail. Henry walked up to the counter, picked up a plate, a fork and a knife and walked on. Today's breakfast was bacon strips, orange juice and a slice of whole wheat bread. It wasn't bad, last week they had dry bread and water.


Henry sat down next to a group of men from his regiment. He had made some friends sice he joined like Corpral John Smithy, Private Nick Rasher and his the leader of his squad, Sergeant Bernet Wallace. John was showing of a magazine he had recieved, but he was just hiding a nude picture so that the other officers wouldn't confiscate it. Nick was talking about the battle in the Pacific. He had just heard that
