Self-explanatory - the tale of a break up and how it feels
When it’s done
The heart is broken
The pieces are far flung

Where had you begun?
Is there a place to start
Repairs to the heart?

Do you remember
How the joy had begun?
How you had wanted
To run and run?

The fear almost stopped you
From enjoying the love
Slowly you acquiesced
To the love expressed

Even today the heart still pounds
At the thoughts of him in your head
Making their daily rounds
Alas, his feelings are dead…

But your feelings live on
Burning an indelible mark
In the flesh of your heart
More fearsome than any dart

Should you have remained aloof?
Hidden that love?
Never to have experienced
That gift from above?

Only you can decide
If the pain
Was worth the ride
