Alienation, isolation, fear.
Alien - Not Foreign

Alien - not foreign
If foreign, someone, somewhere would know
Understand
- But no
Unmistakably Alien - not foreign.

A crude, ugly, blue man
Tough shell, delicate soul
Plagued soul
Visible to eye, mute to ear
Isolation, suffocation - Fear.

Straw-shaped antennae
Attached through his head
Atmosphere surrounds
Through the straws is fed
Runs around in his head.

Different inside, more so than out
Vast needs - shall never be met
This would cause threat
At war with the world - as you'd expect
He's growing older - it's taking effect.

Sharp, pointed ears
Hear more than is said
He frowns, knnows
What's inside their head
Shiny, green eyes, piercing lies
Slowly
- Slowly
Inside he dies.

Star-crossed, blue man
Crashed down to the ground
Cannot escape, go home or be found
Put in a box, buried deep
He's alive, he's alive
He was only asleep!
Nobody hears, the box is dim
He struggles and struggles
His body grows thin.

Inside his spaceship
(Spaceship of mind)
He sometimes escapes
Leaves them behind
His spaceship's his shell
Skin on his bones
Layer of protection
All that he owns.

All by himself - pushed to the edge
Spaceship is lost - falls off the ledge
Closes his eyes - tries to forget
Stiffly breathes in - has he regret?
Takes his last breath
- Death is life and life is death.
