This is the fantical story of my Pen name, Queen Verena and her love, Daniel.
JUST THE SAME

Her quiet whispers echoed not within his ears,
And yet when cries were sounded cross the world he came,
They filled her up with fears of loss and undiluted tears.
And through this, yes, even then, she loved him just the same.

He'd ignore her quick as flash, maybe even quicker,
Her friends said he would bring mud upon her name,
And all else said no one could be thicker.
And through this, oh yes, she loved him just the same.

He would hold another in her place and flaunt his charm,
Then he would come to her and call her his Dame,
When all the while he was still being held by the arm.
And through this, believe, she loved him just the same.

The days would grow long and the nights would go on,
But he would say the moon and sun were to blame,
For they were tardy and the reason why he was gone.
And through this, yes, child, she loved him just the same.

A war was struck and off he went, to fight some other men,
And at home, was she who cared, keeping alive the flame,
When he away fought through valley, over mountain, 'cross glen
And through this, don't you know, she loved him just the same.

A war complete, the dead at rest, and he still was abroad,
She told all who listened he was hers to tame,
And they would say back, he is a fraud.
And through this, by God, she loved him just the same.

Months alone, she worriedly waited, till Fate would bring him home,
He needs to recover from battle, she would hurriedly claim,
And they wouldn't answer for her excuses were as dusty tomes.
And through this, to tell the truth, she loved him just the same.

When home he made his track, she danced on air,
And when he look'd upon her, he said who am I to maim,
Then he took her hand and kissed it, saying she was fair.
And through this, even more, she loved him just the same.

And throughout the world did he gather guests,
A magnificent wedding was said to occur, he proclaimed,
And come they did, the guests, and she wore a beautiful dress.
And all the while he shouted on high, no one will love her the same.

She said her vows:
I said a million times, I love you, and a million hearts I gave,
You asked nothing of me at all and yet I was your slave,
You never touched me once, yet with them you were a rave,
You were off at battle, true, but I alone was brave,
You rescued damsels all around, but who was I to save,
All hours you abandoned me, yet endlessly I forgave,
If it was lovers you hungered for, why couldn't I be what you craved,
When long you left, like a whipped dog did I behave,
When it came to love, I gave you all, yet you did not cave,
And now I give my whole life to you, and I'll not be alone in this game.
And through this, I want you to know, my soul, I'll love you just the same.

And he replied,
I heard you a million times, I love you, and a million hearts did I hold,
I asked nothing of you at all, because I was not that bold,
I never touched you, because it makes you even more a prize, I'm told,
I was off at battle, true, but I fought for you tenfold,
I rescued none but avoided many, for you now do I console,
All hours I pondered how to say I need you forever, without getting old,
No lovers could please the taste but you, for you are the greatest gold,
When long I left, just your name would like a flower I unfold,
When it came to love, my heart was yours, no one need be cajoled,
And now I give my whole life to you, and this will never be a game.
And with this ring and kiss, I swear, I'll love you back just the same.
