Not everyone survives; some thrive.
originally he resisted,
with his trembling arms fetal no longer,
with his diverted eyes swelling,

mercifully he held out,
with his tiring arms still withstanding,
with his blackened eyes shut against,

sorrowfully he was defeated,
with his sore arms easily breaking,
with his bleeding eyes slowly focusing,

mercilessly he surrendered,
with his stitched arms loosing control,
with his reddest eyes glazing over,

eventually he gave up,
with his strengthened arms breaking through,
with his calloused eyes remembering,

eagerly he gave in,
with his tattered hands growing followings,
with his raw fingers wiring bombs,
with his blackened heart killing millions,
with his twisted mind destroying the world,

and yet, one day, someday, any day now,
he'll discover the regret he sought to forget,
with his broken bones finally mending,
with his broken mind somehow forgiving,
with his broken soul actually commiserating.
