For all husbands In Iraq
I miss your face, your smile, your laugh, your voice
I miss everything, I miss it all, I miss you.
The love of my life not here, I cannot breathe.
I long for you, for your touch, your kiss.
I strain to hear your breath at night as you sleep.
This pain I feel, this emptiness inside, outside, next to me at morning.
Crying out in anger, pain, confusion, I have no strength to spare.
What do I do without you here?

I love you.
I love the scent you've left behind, though it's fading.
Pacing around, nothing to do , not without you.
Picturing you, picturing me seems to sneak me through.
Evening is the very worst without you here,
All alone I sit, reaching for you, you used to be there.
But all alone I lie another night.
Again a night never ending with a smile.
Without you here.
The light of day without sun,
Grey it is and it will be,
Without you here.

Counting the days, not knowing how long you'll be away
Breaks my heart in all possibe ways.
I pray you'll be home soon, and I cry myself to sleep.
Wishing you were here with me, away from where you are.
I'm holding you real tight, and I'm kissing you right now
I will be loving you forever, my soldier, my husband, my friend
Hurry home to me, so my pain and loneliness can end.
