More broken hearts.
So many things left unspoken and feelings left unshared.
I think of the kisses our lips will not share,
the embraces I'll never feel.
My sorrow surrounds me like fog on a cold dark night.
I put on a smile to face my day,
my secret I can't let you see.
My walls were up solid I thought,
but you found a way in through
a crack in my foundation it must have been.
I thought I was stronger than I guess I am,
but admitting defeat is not where I plan to be.
In your arms she lies through the night,
while mine remain empty.
In the night I can hear my heart breaking
and on it continues till one day it will shatter.
Like a rock through a stained glass window.
The broken pieces lying scattered on the ground
till they are tossed away without second thought.
No one remembering how beautiful it was
or caring enough to see the beauty that could be again.
