Just a poem about wanting to be unique to someone.

I don’t just want to be a pretty picture on your wall

Something for you to look at but no value to you at all

I don’t want to be for you an object to acquire

Something just to keep around but without desire

I don’t want to be just one of many you’ve obtained

Someone you do not hold dear, you’ll soon forget my name

And whenever I think of you, across both time and space

I want to feel a joyous smile spread across my face

I want to feel the warm, bright glow that comes from tender care

Knowing all the wonderful times two friends often share

I don’t want to sit upon your shelf collecting dust

Though you do not need me, someone out there must
