A poem about thoughts on the distance between loved ones.
Length and width and depth/
Distance has always been one with many directions.
The mountains above, the rivers below, the fields afar/
Distance has always been one with many terrains.
Crisp spring dew, hot summer nights, cool winter snow/
Distance has always been one with many seasons.
War and peace and secrets/
Distance has always been one with many conflicts.
Sorrow and tranquility and pride and anger and pain/
And hate.
Distance has always been filled with emotions.
But I know this above all things/
Love does not have to deal in distance.
It does not need to fly across oceans or traverse mountains/
or risk wars or flourish in peace/
or suffer weathers of heat and cold/
or deal with other emotions or sensations that stop all other things.
Love is distanceless/
Love is timeless/
Love is always/
Love is.
This is how you know that no matter where I am/
And no matter where you are/
The love that I have for you/
The love you have for me/
The love between us will never be stopped.
Distance is a fickle and ranging thing/
But love is not.
