Have you ever realized something when it was too late to be forgiven? For my uncle. RIP
I never really thought about
Everything you did for me
The little things like
Those waves you gave me
Passing by my building
The smiles I received
When heading to school
I got them every day
But I shrugged them off
I never returned
One of those waves
One of those smiles
One of those little things
Last Christmas you trekked
Through the snow
Through the sleet
Through the ice
Just to wish me a Merry Christmas
For my birthday
You gave me fifty dollars
For your birthday
I said hello
I thought about all those things
I regret not ever noticing
Now I look out of my window
Expecting you to flash a smile
I look down the street
Waiting for a wave
Now it’s way too late
To return the favor
I never really thought about
Everything you did for me
The smiles
The waves
Those little things
