Do YOU know a drama queen you'd like dethroned?
How do you dethrone a drama queen?
I used to be just like you,
angry, self centered,
overladen with self contrived angst.
Where does it come from?
Poor parenting?
Deprived childhood?
Adolescent hormones causing neurons to misfire?

Oooo, I was a nasty thing,
spiteful, shrieking, red in the face.
Is any of this sounding familiar to you?
Noone loved me well enough,
noone taught me how to love well,
I wasn't worshiped as befit my divine stature.
Bitch, bitch, bitch,
digging myself a bitch ditch,
deep and wide and dark.

Strangely, my friends wanted to discuss their problems,
their lives in comparison to mine.

What I had I didn't treasure,
and I wanted what I didn't need.

Yours is a slightly different flavor, but it's the same ice cream, baby.

The sad thing is, we won't listen when others try to tell us.
It's a realization you need to come to on your own.
An epiphany of sorts,
the day when you realize that your own internal point of view is skewed,
and that your behaviour is often reprehensible.
It's not a very nice conclusion to reach.
I recommend laughing about it.
