I think this is one of my best poems, this to me, Is a symbol of my mother
The Ivory Tree

The ivory tree that waves for birth

No longer does she make cones that fall to earth

Yet she holds the branches

From the ferocious winds

Grasping till her roots grow thin

Then must let go for the future unfolds

Within the branches lies

Precious gold.

For my mother...
