the spoken words of a glued-together heart
Song, or poem or something in between.

Salvation

They call him weak.
Stuck like glue to mediocrity.
Addicted to his own reasoning.
Broken down by his own morose
I've tried to fix his pieces back to the way they should be
A normal human love
The give and return that we know we'll never have
The bruises on his arms
The bruises on my heart
What is this world coming to?
We should all know how to fight.

So let this be salvation.
The spoken words of a glued-together heart.
Pieces mended and taped haphazardly.
When courage is not quite so welcoming.
And fear is not quite so sad.

I watch the words curl around my finger tips.
A poem I've forgotten to write.
A song I've forgotten to sing.
Its these words we've made our life of.
Pen to paper, finger tip to lips.
They'll try to silence us.
They'll try to know whats best for us.
Our moments are written in sin.
Our lives are written in silence.

So let this be salvation.
The spoken words of a glued-together heart.
Pieces mended and taped haphazardly.
When courage is not quite so welcoming.
And fear is not quite so sad.
I'm not sure what we're supposed to do.
Or where in life we're supposed to be.
