Water, water everywhere

Oh to be in England
At this time of the year.
There should be snowflakes falling,
not all this rain my dear.

The pond has overflowed,
and, as bad as it looks
the frogs are on cloud nine and
it’s good news for the ducks

The garden is a swamp,
my wellies caked with mud.
The birds sit round bedraggled.
It really is no good.

I’m sick to death of rain.
No matter what I try,
I find it impossible
to get my washing dry.

No wonder everyone
walks round with visage glum
suffering from S. A. D.
We need some flippin’ sun.

I hope we get some soon,
she rails and she raves.
Before old England plunges
beneath the bloomin’ waves
