something i cooked up quickly
His hands were shoved into his pockets as he walked out the back door.
Half way to the road he remembered forgetting to turn on the porch light
Along with locking the door
With a slow and a stop to his steps, he turned
Proceeded to run back towards his house
Then tripped
His face smacked off the cold concrete of the driveway
His ankle twisted and he let out a shriek of pain
Disgusted with himself, he shut his mouth quickly
Soon thereafter he began to taste the blood running out of his nose and into his lips
Due to his hands being stuck in his pockets
The wind was knocked out of him
For a moment he found no ability to breath
His chest suddenly ached when he tried to inhale
He thought to himself he’d possibly broken a rib
Then his attention was averted from his torso
His face must have been scratched as well
It began to burn as if the skin had been ripped off the entire right side of his face
His cheek felt wet
Possibly it was red as well
He began to panic
Maybe this was a worse situation than he thought
He hadn’t yet tried to stand
His ankle felt as if it was swelling already
Eventually he tried to stand, slowly
A pain started in his foot and headed directly for his pelvis
His ankle gave way and in a moment he crumpled on the ground
Then the darkness disappeared.
