a poem about the conflict between love and loss
Come find me love,
I'm over in the bushes
hiding from, everyone.

Come find me love,
in the potpourri forest, isn't this what you wanted?
A wind scattered rainbow over the grave of my father.
Well I don't want to be loved
by something so fleeting, let the memory repeated be all I know.
All that's left of its scent on my clothes.

Come find me, it's night, and I'm hiding in the shadows.
The moon is hanging like the drapes at a funeral.
Where there's a blank lifeless body flat back in a box-looking up,
into thoughts of the place he grew up,
wishing only to walk outside and feel the wind on his face,
the wind that has been replaced, by pearly white gates.

Come find me love,
in the despondent ocean
swaying with the motions towards the endless horizon.

Come find me love,
I'm in the sun blinded distance
hopeful but listless
following my grievances,
to the other side of the world.

So please find me love,
I'll be anything you want.
Anything you want.

Come find me it's night and I'm hiding in the shadows,
The moon is hanging like the faces at that funeral,
where the man in that box is looking up at the ground he once touched
but we won't remember his name when its all said and done.

Now he's made peace with the worms in his bones
So you can come find me love, but I think I'd
rather be alone.
