what transpires during royal duties, written for the 99-word contest
Princess Khama’at sat motionless upon her gilded throne. To all observers, she was the picture of serenity. Inwardly, the princess sighed, finding this business to be tedious. Her royal companion conscientiously cooled Khama’at. Faithful Kamit knew that the best way to keep peace in the land was to make sure all the pharaoh’s demands were acceded to. In this instance , keeping the Princess cool and relaxed so the royal sculptor could work uninterrupted was crucial. Without speaking, the girls communicated to each other the need for a regal appearance. Neither noticed the cobra until it was too late.
