When you pass a old barn do you ever think of it's history?
There's a old barn
It still stands but has lost a board or two
You can see holes in it now still on the farm
There's not enough old barns, too few

Wonder at one time how many horses stayed there?
Or what sort of tales would he have to tell?
It could be one or several mares
How many owers I wonder did it have or did it sell?

Barns hold many secrets down through the years
Was there someone killed or loved in it?
Was the owners at peace or was there fear?
How many children came and just sat?

If old barns could just talk
I don't know if that would be good or bad
It can't run, skip or walk
The older ones just sat there looking sad.
