Life can be a nightmare...(another work in progress)
If this was heaven life would be but a nightmare
and I'd awake in bed to find you there
Soothing me with your husky voice, as you did so many years before
while childishly humming that lullaby you know I adore
Your soul holds my stories, secrets, and dreams, yet only did they stop being received
when cold hands gripped my heart the day that you died
Now only in poetry do I confide
