two ends of a conversation
Summer swells in my chest,
you speak first, and I wait my turn.
There are bees flying all around my head,
grabbing my attention.
I mean I hear you, but at the same time I'm not listening.
I think about a dream I had
where the sun was out at night,
and the moon lit up the day.
I felt enlightened by the change of pace,
but much to my dismay it never stayed that way.

You finish your thoughts, and I gather myself for a response.
"I know what you mean, I've seen it before
all you can do is just wait it out, and try to endure".
You nod your head, you believe what I've said.
I grab your hand and we walk away,
I still think the moon looks better in the day.
