This is a poem about my first love, who was hard to love and even harder to leave.
I don't ever want to love again
It seems in love, you cannot win
With you everyday is a new battle
My brain it puts all in a rattle
The drives around town, the fights, and the sex
Maybe love is nothing but a hex
The parties, the late nights, and the early mornings
Being in love with you was anything but boring
But I cannot take the heartache anymore
So now I am going to walk out the door
I asked you to not try and stop me
But that's what I want, can't you see?
I want you to hold me and say that everything's okay
And that you and I will have many more days
I want you to run after me and stop me
All I really want is for you and me to be
