This is a poem about my father, who passed away April 4th 2007, due to suicide.
The regrets of actions never taken,
the guilt of words never said.
The pain of being so mistaken,
the disbelief that you are dead.
To take your life some say is a sin,
but if you did not prevent them
who do you blame then?
How can you condemn the dead?
Who are you to judge the living?
Do you know the grief that fills their soul?
I pray that God is forgiving.
The misery I feel is like the salt in the sea,
you cannot see it, but it is here constantly.
The sorrow hovers like the clouds in the sky,
when one leaves another decides to come by.
The fury of being left behind by you,
comes and goes as thunderstorms do.
And everyday like the sun does rise,
I miss you daddy and I am sorry that I did not realize.
