Grave Reality

         We stared at the casket.

         “What did you want to do in life?” My cousin attempts to break the tension.

        I spoke of the writing I set aside for a more profitable career, looking down at the young child’s body.

        “And her?”

        “She wanted to survive the disease…”

         We all set aside our dreams sometime.
