The heart was broken again, but it is now on the mend.
YOU HURT

Yes, you are hurt, who wouldn’t be.
People can be so cruel.
They just walk up,
Dance on your heart,
Make you feel like a fool.

He told you such sweet things.
Reached out, drew you into his heart.
Enticed you to open up and give,
Then slammed you through a sieve.
No wonder you withdraw.

You should have known better.
You tell yourself please try again.
You tell yourself this time it will be different.
Ha!!  Who do you think you are kidding?
You should have known better.

Well, let me tell you something.
Allowing one to be open to trust
Is that where the problem is?
The problem is to WHOM you open up to,
To WHOM you allow to come in.

Sweet words mean nothing.
In the end it is their actions that mean everything.
There are people, to whom you can trust,
People to whom you can open up to,
To whom you may share your beauty.

And to all the rest, you say, “Not today”.
With all the rest you must not play.
There is a lesson to be learned here.
For you must learn, you must not fear,
Or you will always shed a tear.

Today is a new day for you.
A day that is seen by many.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
Live it as if it were your last,
Loving, dancing, trusting to the fullest.
