What I see in a winter fog out my backdoor...
Fog

the soft smooth fog

s    l    i    d    e    s

over my skin like a shawl

made of delicate gray silk

I flow through the nebula of mist

and am a part of the world that surrounds me

temperature drops

mist clings to the trees

freezes

to their skeletons

like a

Frost Giant’s

breath

day arrives

the sun awakens

splinters of light

off the frozen gems dazzle my eyes

the air warms

ice diamonds fall to the

ground like

faerie dust sprinkled

by Peter Pan
