This poem was inspired by the song "This Picture" by Placebo.
Standing on the end of this fragile line
Weeping, moaning, passing away…
Perch here and delude ourselves
Clinging on to memories that never were

She was there, I could’ve sworn it

How did we endure breathing untouched air?
How can we go back to that,
Now that we’ve tasted the beguiling breeze
Of forbidden lands which we cannot reach

She was there, I’m certain
She was there

How can we drill these blurred pictures in our minds,
When we’ve never even glimpsed them before?
We listen to lament that was never sung
And create a matrix of delusions
Leave your sanity at the door
Enter in a trance
And prepare to see

Her, she was there, I know it

Curl up into a ball of hopelessness
And lose yourself
Expire…

She was there, I’m definite…
