it's the new western
My skin is scrunched and dishoveled
as my eyes squint into the headlights
of the massive truck in front of me,
the big bulky metaphorical truck.
The driver gets out
and asks if I'm ok.
I want to say
Yeah, I'm fine
But, all I seem to get out
is, Fuck You
right before I black out.
I wake up in a cheap
soiled mattress bed
And my ass hurts
like hell.
Outside I hear him
laughing, as he honks
the horn of his metaphorical semi
and drives off
into the sunset
as Rhinestone Cowboy begins [to play] on the radio.
