Joanna died at the age of fourteen. Pretty, bubbly, with a wicked sense of hunour, her parents found her lying on the bathroom floor, a can of hairspray beside her. It was thought that she might have died from an aneurism or a heart defect. Rumours circulated that it was something more sinister.
Joanna had started hanging around with Claire, a girl two years her senior. Claire smoked. She drank. It was also alleged that she sniffed aerosols. Joanna smoked and drank, but nobody really believed she would have tried to get high on hairspray.
