This is a poem I wrote when I was fascinated by the moon.
I am walking down the stream;
I stop, fascinated by the reflection of the moon,
How beautiful it is when contrasted with water,
The water looks almost silver.
Mesmerized I decide to touch the water,
I get closer to the stream when...
All of a sudden I can't see, the moon has gone black;
I pull back, realizing that it was just my head blocking it's reflection,
I chuckle and keep on staring.
Then the world becomes black and I jump around trying to see where I am.
I trip on a rock and curse myself,
As I look up the moon is clear again.
It was then I realized...
It had been a lunar eclipse!
Oh, Joy it was just an eclipse
I ran back to my house in giddy happiness
Knowing the world was not quite done yet.
