A poem about realizing you gave away your love too easily.
Trust. One small word.

So much meaning imbedded within.

So hard to build. So easy to break.

Given away like love.

Expectations of safety.

Now I know the truth.

I gave it away too freely.

Now I hold it closely, in a death grip.

Is anyone worthy of this gift?

Will I ever give again?

Fear controls me.

I don’t want to be hurt.

So, I pass through life without loving or trusting.

Afraid to live.
