How one depressed man had to learn about life
Johnny Came To Town with a New Jester

Johnny came home from the west, where his experiences were not the best
He had to come home, ‘cause he had no where else to go
No money in his pocket and nothing left to show
As he stands outside his mother’s house, a cold wind hits his face
It’s the same wind from his past that drove him from the place
He then strikes a deal with the jester wind
To push away the force that haunted him as a kid
‘If you go away, I’ll kill myself—how does that sound?
Then I’ll be gone and I won’t ever be around.’
The jester says ‘ok’ and Johnny gets a gun
Raises it to his temple and tries to squeeze off one
But the wind blows the weapon out of the way
And as the shot rings out, cries, ‘I’m in your life to stay.’

Johnny becomes a rich man of his day
Buys several buildings to keep the jester away
Johnny sticks his head out the windows and cries loudly,
“You’ll never bother me anymore,” proudly.
Just then the wind blows at the window and closes it shut
And Johnny loses his head from its cruel cut
And the wind cries out as Johnny’s neck is pinned
“You can never run away from the past, just as you can’t run away from the wind.”
