Day begins to end and begin again.
Week Five: Monotetra
fourline stanzas of eight syllables with single rhyme, last line repeat of four syllable refrain.

Pearly pink pale promise of dawn
Golden gleam the darkness has sawn
Sun appears to hold moon in pawn
Spreads yellow lawn. Spreads yellow lawn.

Mid morning heat begins to rise
Sun rampages across the skies
Valiant dew succumbs and dies
Hell in disguise. Hell in disguise.

Late afternoon begins to tire
At zenith can reach no higher
Now benign warmth, a dwindling pyre.
Embers of fire. Embers of fire.

Purple haze of dusk beckons now
Wind whispers to the swaying bough
Sun sinks slowly down hilly brow
To Night its bow. To Night its bow.

Crescent moon gives serene shimmer
Silver silken strands of glimmer
Trailing light tenderly dimmer
Black sea swimmer. Black sea swimmer.

Moon bids stars a good-bye forlorn
Night’s dark tresses ruthlessly shorn
By radiant fingers of morn
New day is born. New day is born.
