A poem reflecting my current state of mind
Feeling like I’m living,
Feeling like existence has entered my soul again,
Wondering how to move my limbs again,
Curious of how things work again,
Numbness gone,
Feelings here once more,
Life has returned to my soul,
Hearing music,
Emerging from a dark place,
Pulling myself above the rippling surface,
Breathing the cool sea air once again,
Feeling the warmth of the sunlight on my face,
Smelling scents long since forgotten,
Feeling emotions never thought existed within me,
Hearing words spoken,
never spoken before,
Wondering if this will last
And give me much more
Happiness,
Feeling,
Warmth and life,
And praying that I shall not be banished
To a murky place,
Where I can be long forgotten,
Thank you for reminding me,
That I am like a butterfly,
Able to fly free from the world,
Within myself and enjoy the freedom,
Or like a spider,
Capable of building my web and making a life
That no one else can take credit for,
And catching feelings,
Like the spider catches flies.
The world is spinning,
My heart is working,
And still I fear,
For so many things,
With freedom,
Love,
Hope and happiness,
Comes the pain of all that has been felt before.
