star crossed is just a fancy way of saying bad timing
your answer read like deja vu
with words that i already knew
that's just the way
with me and you
the way we always won that game
it sounds insane
but still rings true
you never ever let me down
so i won't frown at might-have-been
and i won't drown in could-be-still
and some may say my heart was cold
but you'll know it was just the chill
from stretching my new wings
and when you sing
i'll still be crying
joyfully with eyes so blue
and when i walk away from you
the way you did for me
you'll know it's not 'cause i don't see
the things we always could
it's just 'cause i have learned to love
the way we always should
yes, i will fly away from here
i'll fly alone, but afraid
'cause if i crash and die today
my heart's been wrapped in cellophane
so nothing dear dies with me
and i am shyly unashamed
of how the tides are shifting
oh, how we've been drifting...
so, for now, adieu
(i love you too)
