Poetry is cheaper than therapy.
There's a darkness that surrounds me.
It's in all aspects of my life.
It opens me up to hardships,
And leads me into strife.

My candle is extinguished.
It's guiding light gone out.
The darkness that surrounds me now
Has me fumbling all about

The images I'm seeing
Flashing through my mind
Are merely the mirages
Of a very distant time.

I'm reaching out in the blackness
For something strong to hold
Oh, please don't shut me out
And leave me in the cold.

I beg of you to save me
From the darkness of the ledge.
Please save me from the phantoms
That await me at the edge.

Soon they will devour me
And I will be no more.
The sins that I've committed
Have thrown me to this horde.

They feast upon my flesh
And swallow up my soul.
There is nothing that can fill
This giant gaping hole.

They eat of my emotions
And digest my dignity.
No soul shall feel sorry,
Or take pity upon me.
