Night's Eternal Light

The day's light fades away
and the stars come to play
forever shining bright
giving the dark a gloomy light.

Alas, again comes the sun
to ruin my nightly fun
and with its intense light,
the stars fade with nary a fight.

So here I sit looking above
waiting for my nightly love
waiting for the dark of night
and its forever lasting light.
