A poem about a man who can't let go of the memories he'll never surpass.
they say a picture's worth a thousand words
but this one of you leaves me speechless
resting safe and sound in the palm of my hand
I will never let you slip away again

I've spent years analyzing a single moment in time
observing every detail and writing down what I find
I've accepted my fate but it's still hard to ignore
that my entire story is just a sentence in yours

my hands are tied behind my back
by the strings you've long since unattached
I took your end and tied it tight
to this thousand pound photograph
